Announcing our newest project in 2019... the Valais Black Nose Sheep! Our first crop have arrived!
The Valais Blacknose is a breed of domestic sheep originating in the Valais region of Switzerland. There are indications that the Valais black sheep’s history goes back as far as to 15th century.
Their most notable features -- a black face, black ears, black feet. It is a dual-purpose breed, raised both for meat and for wool. The wool is coarse: fibre diameter averages approximately 38 microns, and staple length is 100 mm or more. The annual yield is about 4 kg per head.
